Competitor 179 was no typical athlete in this Ironman Triathlon. He was John Blais, and he had recently been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. At only 33, John chose to pour everything he could into his final years, and be a light to others. Life — whether you’re 33 or 63 or 93 — is so short! Are you shining so others have hope?
