This sure changed my attitude about Pit Bulls. I loved this video and the music was perfect for it. Watching that tiny kitten, and this large dog playing is so neat. Just loved it.

My first French poodle,Gigi, mothered, and nursed three kittens back in the late '70,s,and 80's.The first two were named Toughy, and Roughy, while the third, final onebwas named Charlie.Gigi had never ever been mated,or given birth, yet her breasts filled with milk,so that she was able to nurse the kittens, her adopted babies. She really enjoyed taking care of her"kitten-puppies",God bless her.I wonder if the pitbull here might bpossbly be a female perhaps? k ke b given

As far as I am concerned this shows the pit bull reputation is man made not breed made

So cute! I once had a Rotweiller/Shepherd mix and a kitten who had a smilar relationship. Pit Bulls have a bad rep, but really are gentle, loving dogs if they are treated right. My son & daughter-in-law have 5 rescued dogs, 2 of which are Pits and they are super! I have 3 rescued cats. We all volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter and have come to love this breed, as have many others who have adopted them. No Pit has ever been returned because of viciousness - out of some 3500 adoptees in a 7 year span. Many have gone to police officers and some turned out to be Heroes. We don't hear about those enough.

Cute Video! Brian - You could have been attacked by any breed of large, aggressive dog. The way a dog is treated/raised has everything to do with how they turn out, just like humans. I volunteer at a no-kill-animal shelter and we have adopted out over 3500, yes, 3500 pitbull/mix in 4 years and not one has been returned because of aggressive behavior. My son has one of them!I can personally attest to how sweet, loyal, and loving they are, as any dog can be, if it is treated with love. You wouldn't believe some of the things "owners" do to their dogs and the condition they are brought in, and still they look for the touch of a kind hand to relieve their suffering and to let them know they have a second chance. I am sorry for your suffering and expense, but please realize that pitbulls as a breed do not deserve the reputation that the publicity of dog fights, etc. has given them. Did you know that they were "nanny" dogs in England left to watch babies in the nursery? Do a little research please.

I bet that dog wished the cat would just chill out for a while so it could rest for a bit...lol. It was nice that they got along so well and like to play with each other. It was kind of "priceless" in a way....
Miss Berrie commented on July 30, 2012:
Hi Trent, The kitten is hopping because it is trying to look as large and scary as it can while play acting with the dog in their game of battle. All kittens will do this sideways hopping, even with their own reflection in a mirror placed on the floor against a wall. He's happy!
Trent commented on July 30, 2012:
I'm wondering why the cat in this video is hopping around. Is it because the Pit Bull somehow damage the poor cats leg. Maybe to the Pitbull, it was a simple bite, but it snapped the cats leg??

Brain I have a pit mix and I would never in this live time give her up.. I was attacked by a neighbors pit.. I had 2surgeryes to save a few fingers, but I still love the bread. A rotie would of done a lot worse to my hand.. It's not the pit fault it's the dam owner. I'm sorry what happen but life Carrys on..I would have more pits down the road. They are so abused, people don't understand them.. They think there great for protection but any dog can do that... People should never get a dog unless they treat them like a kid.. Or a least with respect.. They have feeling and so many are abused it's sad very sad...I'm not sure if you have a dog. I hope you treat them right and never compair this problem to you dog.. Have a good life

not all pittbulls are bad, i think the owers have alot to do with the ultimate behavior of the dog. this video is so adorable. i had a huge lab mix that the kittens used to sleep on. he would just sigh, lay flat and let time do as they please.
Brian Gingerich commented on March 17, 2012:
The medical bills have been nearly $5000 and the Pitbull's owners have no insurance. And I have permanent damage to my hand. Fortunately I can again play my guitar with little impairment. I have spent hundreds of hours now researching dog attacks and Pitbulls. Although many Pitbulls are owned by people who have them because of their reputation with no knowledge of how to care for and properly socialize their dog, and foster aggressive behavior, statiscally, this breed which has been bred to fight and kill, can display these behaviors on occasion regardless of their loving environments and history. I never thought I would feel this way. I am an animal lover. But this "sweet dog" who had not exhibited tendencies that would alert you to the danger, was not going to stop attacking Oso until he was lifeless. And from the beginning Oso was too old and arthritic to do more than lay on the ground and whimper. Please google "pitbull dog attacks". And also go to this website. http://www.dogsbite.org/dogsbite-about.php
Brian Gingerich commented on March 17, 2012:
Yes, this is very heartwarming. However, the closest being to me in my life was a beautiful Rott-Chow-Wolf mix that I adopted at the age of 12 weeks. He was with me 24/7 on wonderful adventures, and at the age of 8 when I settled down into a relationship with the love of my life he stayed at home and protected her and her new puppy and litter of 4 feral kittens we rescued and bottle fed. A few months ago, Oso, at the age of 13, very healthy but arthritic, was attacked by a neighbor's Pitbull that came into our yard. I desperately fought the Pitbull as Oso lay whimpering on the ground for an estimated 7 minutes until the police arrived from a 911 call. After the Pitbull (believed by the owners to be very sweet) was taser gunned 3 times they were able to pull it off of us. We both went to emergency, he to an animal hospital and me to a human hospital. I was in for hours. He was released after surgery with 7 drainage splints coming out of his head the following day. He appeared to be slowly recovering, but 5 weeks after diapers and being able to walk across the street to walk up the block and back, he died of internal bleeding. The highest number of dog attacks that result in human and animal fatalities are by Pitbulls. And a great many of them are by Pitbulls that are in loving homes and have never displayed any characteristics that would suggest this. Genetics appear to have created a breed that is like Russion Roulette playing with fate.
